He is survived by : his wife Peggy Brenda Morgan; his children, Andrew Perry Hyer (Ellene) and Amy Lynn Humphries Sharpe (Chip); and his brothers, Kenneth Hyer, Keith Hyer (Kathryn), Max Hyer and Alan Hyer (Sue). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
