Tom was quite a sports fan. He loved baseball and I recall in school his job let him listen to a lot of baseball games and he would fill us in on what was going on in the world of bats and ball. I remember him sitting in the upper section of the gym and practicing doing game play-by-plays as if he were broadcasting the game to the world.
Our class was full of Kingston Trio fans. If memory serves, Mike Ramsdall was a member of a trio that sang a lot of their songs. But Tom was the king of the Trio's fan club. If they were performing within a hundred miles or so, you could count on seeing Tom on the front row jumping up and down cheering them on. He was a Kingston Trio fanatic. He was a very fun guy and did a lot of great work in both his occupation as a professor running the speech therapy department at USU and in his church callings.
Tom was a Chicago White Sox fan and I was a Boston Red Sox and Braves fan. We often traded baseball cards when we were in Elementary School. Yes, I agree with the memory of the smile and friendly attitude with him. Thanks for the memories that this brings to me, J.R
In addition to the great memories others have shared, I wanted to add that TJ was a member of the BRHS band and orchestra. His main instrument was the bass, He also played other brass instruments as needed. I have fond memories of participating with Tom in concerts and marching band, TJ and I were in the Tremonton 1st Ward during our teen-age years and and served in the Aaronic Priesthood as well as multiple Boy Scout activities.
